An international (e)mail art project in which three peices of Nepalese Lokta paper were placed on the surface of the sacred and contaminated Bagmati River, downstream from Pashupatinath Temple: an open-pyre cremation site in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Participatory performers included: Sagar Mandandhar & Pratima Thakali from Kathmandu School of Art and Design and Nepali Musician Anil Shahi. The substrates were chemically analysed by scientists: Karl Heaton (University of York), Simon Reid & Andrew Hobson (University of Leeds) & Andrew Smith (SGS Laboratories) using Gas-Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and Inductively-Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
